Version 1.0 | Nigeria
ECHOCHOP LTD, incorporated in Nigeria and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under RC 9541284. Correspondence address: 6, Yinka Afolabi Street, Ayobo, Lagos State, Nigeria. Support: support@echochop.com. Formal notices: legal@echochop.com. This agreement governs delivery services provided through EchoChop by the rider identified in the accepted Rider Schedule. It takes effect when both parties accept this agreement and the completed schedule. Account creation or acceptance does not itself activate a rider for deliveries.
1 The delivery relationship
EchoChop provides the platform for delivery offers, order coordination, tracking and support. The rider undertakes accepted delivery tasks in accordance with this agreement and the Rider Schedule. The schedule identifies whether the contracting party is the individual rider or a delivery business and identifies any responsible employer or fleet operator. Only authorised, verified riders may use an assigned account.
The relationship is non-exclusive unless a lawful, express arrangement states otherwise. No volume of work or minimum earnings is guaranteed by this agreement. The parties’ actual arrangements and applicable law determine employment status and statutory rights; describing a rider as self-employed does not remove rights that the law provides. Any employment arrangement requires its own appropriate employment terms.
2 Eligibility and account security
The rider must be at least 18, legally entitled to perform the work, and competent to use the selected vehicle. Provide accurate identity, contact, vehicle, licence, insurance and payout details required for the service. Keep required documents valid and notify EchoChop of changes. Verification may take place through authorised staff outside the app; account creation does not waive eligibility requirements.
Keep credentials secure and complete any required password change. Do not lend, sell or share an account, impersonate another rider, or appoint an unverified substitute. A delivery business must ensure that each person undertaking a task has the correct verified access and lawful authority.
3 Road safety and equipment
Comply with applicable road traffic laws, vehicle restrictions, permits, insurance and licensing requirements in each service area. Maintain a roadworthy vehicle, appropriate protective equipment and a clean, secure food carrier. An app route or offer does not authorise entry to a restricted road or require an unsafe manoeuvre.
Do not ride while impaired, dangerously fatigued or using a handheld device. Stop safely before operating the app. Never speed or disregard traffic rules to meet an estimate. Report an unsafe task or access problem promptly; safety takes priority over delivery targets. Equipment ownership, costs and any deposit or return arrangement must be recorded in the Rider Schedule.
Offers collection and handover
4 Delivery offers and acceptance
The app may offer a task to several eligible riders for a limited time. A task belongs to you only after the app confirms your assignment. Do not collect an order from an expired offer or an offer assigned to someone else. Declining or missing an offer may temporarily affect eligibility for further offers under the dispatch process; it does not by itself create a monetary penalty.
Review the offered task and applicable earnings before accepting. Accept only work you can complete safely. If you cannot continue after acceptance, contact support promptly for reassignment and custody instructions. Do not abandon an order or transfer it to an unauthorised person. Inform EchoChop if the app fails to show information needed to accept safely.
5 Collection and food custody
Confirm the vendor, order reference and package count at pickup. Check visible packaging and seals without opening sealed food. Report leakage, damage, missing packages or unsafe conditions before taking custody. Record collection only when the order has actually been handed to you. Do not consume, tamper with, substitute or sell any part of an order.
Keep food upright, protected from contamination and at suitable transport conditions. Separate food from chemicals and other unsafe loads. Proceed to the agreed delivery location without unrelated delays and communicate material delays through approved channels. Follow support instructions for returns, failed delivery or suspected unsafe food; never dispose of or retain a customer order for personal use.
6 Delivery confirmation and customer contact
Deliver to the customer or authorised recipient at the agreed location. Follow reasonable access instructions without compromising safety. Obtain any required delivery code only at physical handover and enter the genuine code through the app. Never ask for a code in advance, fabricate location or evidence, or mark a delivery completed before handover.
If the recipient is unavailable, attempt contact through the approved channel and seek support instructions. Do not leave food unattended without an agreed safe handover arrangement. Do not demand additional payment or tips, or collect cash for an app-paid order. Cash collection is permitted only where expressly enabled with recorded instructions. Never ask for banking passwords, payment PINs or account verification codes.
7 Incidents and customer care
Treat customers, vendors, riders and staff respectfully. Harassment, threats, unlawful discrimination, theft, fraud and retaliation for a genuine complaint are prohibited. Report accidents, injuries, loss, damage, suspected contamination and security incidents promptly. Where there is immediate danger, contact emergency services first. Cooperate with reasonable investigations and provide accurate records. Do not admit liability on another party’s behalf or promise an unauthorised refund.
Earnings privacy and continuity
8 Earnings charges and payment
The accepted Rider Schedule must state the earnings calculation, any cancellation or waiting-time entitlement, expenses, payment-provider charges, lawful deductions and payout cycle. A customer’s delivery charge is not automatically the rider’s earnings. No commission, deduction, deposit or processing charge applies merely because it appears elsewhere in the marketplace. No fee may be recovered twice for the same cost.
EchoChop will provide an itemised payment record. Payout eligibility and timing follow the accepted schedule, subject to verified completion and any justified hold affecting the amount. A payment status in the app does not guarantee immediate bank receipt. Payment delays will be explained with an updated expectation. Each party remains responsible for its applicable tax obligations.
A proportionate hold may be applied for an identified dispute, suspected fraud, reversal risk or legal requirement. Explain the basis unless legally restricted, review the hold and release it when justified. Undisputed earnings must not be confiscated because an account is closed. Deductions for an incident require a lawful agreed basis, evidence and an opportunity to challenge the calculation. Contact support about an incorrect payment entry.
9 Location and personal information
Location supports nearby offers, navigation, assignment checks, customer delivery tracking and investigation of delivery problems. The Privacy Notice explains collection, recipients, retention and your rights. Device permissions must reflect the functions being used. If location is unavailable, some delivery functions may not work; do not falsify it.
Use customer and vendor details only to complete the assigned task and authorised support. Do not keep addresses for personal use, publish chats, contact customers for unrelated purposes or add them to marketing lists. Keep devices secure and notify EchoChop promptly of lost devices or suspected data exposure. Authorised staff may review relevant delivery and chat records for support, safety and disputes.
10 Restriction termination and review
Either party may end this agreement on 30 days’ written notice. Immediate restriction or termination may be necessary for serious safety risks, fraud, illegality or material breach. Where immediate action is unnecessary and a problem can be remedied, give reasons and a reasonable opportunity to correct it. Riders may request a human review through support. Mandatory notice and employment rights, where applicable, remain protected.
On exit, coordinate outstanding deliveries, return agreed equipment, resolve customer issues and settle earned amounts subject only to justified deductions or holds. Each party is responsible for its own conduct to the extent required by law. This agreement creates no unlimited indemnity and excludes no liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11 Changes notices and law
Give at least 30 days’ notice of material commercial changes, except where law or urgent safety requires earlier action. Changes do not retrospectively reduce agreed earnings for accepted tasks. Send formal notices to contact@echochop.com and the notice address in the Rider Schedule; receipt must be acknowledged or otherwise reasonably established. Nigerian law applies, subject to mandatory rights and access to competent courts and regulators. Mediation is voluntary. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining lawful provisions continue.
Rider Schedule and acceptance
Complete and accept this schedule before delivery work begins. It forms part of the EchoChop Rider Agreement version 1.0. Record “None” or “Not applicable” where appropriate. Both parties must expressly agree any variation and identify the affected clause; no variation overrides mandatory law.
